Anam Bar Venue Review

On Thursday night I was at the Comedy Bin‘s Thursday night gig in the Anam Bar, located in the increadingly trendy  Chapel Market, Islington, right next to Angel tube station.

The indefatigable Deola warmed up the large and lovely crowd admirably. It’s a smallish room, so it doesn’t take much to make it packed. Which means the laughs feel even bigger. But you may have to fight your way up onto the stage!

Like any of these free entry gigs crowd numbers are bound to vary but based on this first glance this gig is definitely worth doing.

Don’t get there too early though – despite what it says on the website it starts at 8pm not 7.30pm. If you get there at 6.45 like I did you will probably be sitting on your own for quite a while. Although if you’re an open mic comic you’re probably used to that by now.

Book yourself in with Jay or chance picking up a dropout’s spot on the night. On second thoughs don’t. I want this gig for myself.
